The iPad 4 is a fast and reliable tablet with great performance and a gorgeous Retina display. While there are no major improvements from the previous generation, it works well and is easy to use and maintain. It may not be worth upgrading from the iPad 3, but for those looking for a new tablet, the iPad 4 is a solid choice. The only improvement that could be made is for the bezels to be thinner.
