Title: Nintendo Switch Review (2018 Update) By: IGN
The Nintendo Switch has lived up to its promise of playing high-quality games both at home and on the go. While it may not be as powerful as other consoles, the portability and versatility of the Switch make up for it. The handheld mode with its 720p LCD display is impressive and the battery life is sufficient for long commutes. The Joy-Con controllers and the option to use different combinations provide a satisfying gaming experience. However, there are some design flaws that have been revealed over time, such as battery expansion and loose Joy-Cons, which raise concerns about long-term durability. The Switch has a great selection of third-party games, although some graphically demanding titles are absent due to the system's weaker hardware. Nintendo's first-party games have been exceptional and the lineup for the future looks promising. The lack of built-in voice chat and basic console features is a downside, but the affordable online service provides essentials like cloud saves and online multiplayer. Overall, the Nintendo Switch is a disruptive gaming machine with an impressive game library, despite missing some expected features.
