The reviewer, T, has been using the Google Pixel 8 for a few months and finds the smaller size to be comfortable and portable. The display quality is excellent, especially under direct sunlight. The photography is great, although the selfie camera is inconsistent. The face unlock feature is a pleasant surprise. Video quality is solid, but slightly behind iPhones. The Tensor G3 processor enables AI features, but processing times can be slow. Battery life is average and charges slowly. Google's promise of 7 years of updates is impressive, but the battery may not last that long. Despite some issues with signal reliability and the selfie camera, T believes the Pixel 8 deserves recognition as a top phone of 2023. However, T advises waiting to see what upcoming phones have to offer before making a purchase.
