The Sony US SRS XG500 is a contender to the JBL Boombox and UE Hyper Boom. It has a lightweight and attractive design with fabric mesh on the outside. The speaker is water-resistant and has a party connect button. The battery is large and can also be used to charge phones. The speaker has lights around the subs that sync with the music, giving it a cool look. In terms of sound, it has strong bass but falls short in the high-end and mid-range frequencies. With its lower price compared to the JBL Boombox, it offers good value for money. However, if sound quality is a priority, the Boombox might be a better option. Overall, it is a very good speaker and a worthy competitor to the Boombox.
